New Barriers

Since finishing School in 2012 I’ve had a want to do something different.

To set myself apart from the others.

My take on school is that it teaches you many useful skills – Maths, English, Science, Geography, but it also forces you to accept that you have to be the same as everyone else to get anywhere in life. It doesn’t give you the opportunity to do something different. School moulds those people who are destined for something more

into a single file line with everyone headed to the same place.

It wasn’t until this year (2017) that my underlying want for success turned into a need. A burning desire. To the point that it consumes every thought I have and now feels like a reality. So I’ve decided to start my second business which will be drawn upon from time to time.

I’ve started New Barriers to share the challenges that I’ve faced with acting on this burning desire and to explain how I overcome these issue as they face me on my journey.

From starting my first business in 2013 to it’s failure in 2015, from new jobs to new opportunities and of course, new risks. I will aim to teach and help people, more specifically, younger generations trying to set themselves apart.

Being 23 years old myself, New Barriers will aim to help people overcome all the temptations and distractions that come with being in your 20’s. Mobile phones, the want for a social life or the need to chase relationships. While harsh, these are all things that can cause you to slide off course and ultimately lose sight of your desires. I will aim to help you balance these temptations and in some cases wipe them out completely, using techniques I have learnt from entrepreneurs, books and finding things that work for me. I will share my strategies and what I do on a day-to-day basis to stay motivated.

From blog post number one, I think it’s important to point out that I have hardly left the starting line in my pursuit for success. I’m still learning like most of you will be and as I move further along on my journey, you will too. With that in mind, I want New Barriers to be used as a place where people can freely express their thoughts and stories – possibly sharing any tips you may have as well.

Before you go any further and decide to start your journey – Ask yourself ‘What is your burning desire?’.

    1. I like your agenda. Having been a teacher myself (now retired) the age group you are targeting is so vulnerable, and needs all the support they can get. May God bless you in your efforts and make your path fruitful.

    1. Exactly! I’m 57 and just graduated from college. I finally found what I love to do, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!! It’s not really going to “work” if you love what you’re doing. I just started a blog too. RicherRewards. I’d love if you read me and give me some input.
      Blessings on your journey.

  2. I don’t even know the way I finished up right here, but I assumed this post was once good. I do not understand who you are however definitely you’re going to a well-known blogger if you are not already. Cheers!
