I’VE MOVED TO: www.jessekerema.com
I’m at the very beginning of my journey to success. I’ve gone through stages of making dramatic changes in order to put myself on the right path and I’ve began running towards to my goals.
Mentally, I’m already there. I’ve already achieved my goals.
In 2016, I made a New Years Resolution – to quit drinking. I know, probably the most common resolution and the most failed. I was no different, I failed, I think I lasted a week.
In 2017, I made another New Years Resolution, again, to quit drinking. I failed again. This time I made it to the 21st of January, my best friends birthday.
The very next day, I made a new goal. I’m not too sure what clicked between the 21st and the 22nd of January but something changed. I realised that for change to happen you actually have to want to change. For the past 2 years I was blindly making goals with no motivation in actually seeing them through but this time was different.
I was introduced to a book ‘Think and Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill. If you haven’t heard of it, read it and do it now. The book speaks about making a goal and a definite date for when you wish to achieve this goal.
As mentioned before I made a new goal, to make $1,000,000 by 03/12/2020.
The difference about this is I had the knowledge from Think and Grow Rich and the motivation to make it happen.
The first thing I had to do to achieve my goals was to drill it into my mind. I did this by writing my goal out and placing it where I would often see it throughout the day.
So I have it in a couple of places:
Place number one is on a card that lives in my wallet where my license would normally go. So that every time I open my wallet I’m reminded of my goal.
The other is written on a piece of paper, hanging in my room where it is the first and last thing I see in the day. That paper reads:
By 03 December 2020 – I will have in my possession $1,000,000, which will come to me in various amounts from time to time during the interim
In return for this money I will give the most efficient service in which I am capable and the best quality service in providing ‘Business name’ to the world and through extreme saving and investing
I believe I will have this money in my possession. My faith is so strong that I can see this money before my eyes. I can touch it with my hands. It is now awaiting transfer to me in the proportion that that I deliver the service I intend to render in return for it.
I will follow my plan in order for this to be.
This is a paragraph loosely based off the AUTOSUGGESTION chapter of Think and Grow Rich.
I read this every day and night, when I wake up and before I go to sleep and so should you until you can imagine your goals unfolding.
I’m at the stage now where my goal has consumed me to the point that I have no doubt it will happen.
While I’m driving I imagine myself in a new Aston Martin, driving down the main road of my hometown where everyone I know looks and says to themselves ‘How did he do it?’. I can already see my business taking off, in my eyes it’s already the industry leader. I can see myself accepting awards, getting investors, hiring new people, renting office space. I can actually visualise myself calling my competitor one morning and telling him we just became number one.
I believe that these are things that will eventually happen because I turned a goal into a burning desire, I let it consume me and I will do anything to make sure it happens.
It’s so important to drill your goal into your mind because if you don’t believe then it will never happen, you won’t have the motivation or the dedication to push through, you won’t be willing got put in 110%.
This is why the above steps are so important because they help you turn your dreams from a goal to a burning desire. Because if you don’t even believe they are going to happen then they never will. You won’t be motivated enough, you won’t be willing to put in 110% and you’ll give up.
You need to be able to see it in order for it to happen.
I know the first thing you’re going to say is ‘I can’t just think and it will happen’. While this is true you won’t plan to achieve something if you don’t believe in it. Focus on letting your goals consume you first. The ‘how’ comes after you can mentally see it.
This is the best point I took away from Think and Grow Rich and I invite you to do it as well. Once you can see it in your mind, the rest will fall into place. Doing it for 5 months I’m already seeing evidence of it working. I’ve got a raise, been offered a new job, paid off debt all because I started to visualise myself in a better place.
If you have started this please let me know of your progress by sending me an email or commenting.
